Developing artists and helping to grow their fan base
The top tier of Breakthrough offers a six-month plan awarded to six artists a year that includes top-tier support: music videos, custom out-of-home, paid media, editorial videos, bespoke events, programming and more.
When selecting Breakthrough artists, we consider artists who have the potential to transition from developing to a household name, targeting artists in the most commercially viable genres (including pop, country, hip-hop, R&B, rock, dance and Latin). In certain marketplaces, we will locally select artists who are both showing strong signs of potential growth in their country and have the potential for mainstream appeal.

Breakthrough Development Fund (US only)
The fund is a discretionary budget established to help artists by providing financial and audience development support. This fund is specifically meant for independent artists who need help building out resources and or their team (i.e. PR, social media, video, and tour). The level of commitment per artist can range, from underwriting tour support or studio time to funding a PR/social team or specialty radio promotion personnel, among other needs.
Breakthrough Live (US only)
Breakthrough Live is a 90-minute weekly series that brings together three developing artists from the same genre to perform 30-minute sets live on the Amazon Music Twitch channel. An extension of the Breakthrough playlists, programming selects a group of artists each week from a specific genre to broadcast live on the Amazon Music Twitch channel.
